About ADSL 2+

Aussie Broadband’s ADSL 2+ provides some of the fastest internet access in regional Victoria. We have a range of enabled exchanges in metropolitan Melbourne and key regional centres.

Aussie Broadband’s ADSL 2+ service provides up to 20 Mbit/s depending on your distance from your local phone exchange. More information on ADSL 2+ speeds can be found here.

At Aussie, we like to keep things simple. Our friendly support team is always available to guide you through any problems you may experience.

What do I need to get ADSL 2+ broadband?

A Phone Line

To have ADSL 2+ broadband enabled you will need an active phone service at your premises. Your ADSL 2+ service is linked to the phone line and if you make any changes to your phone service in the future this may affect your broadband. We recommend contacting us before you make any changes to your phone line once you have connected with us.

Broadband Modem or Router

To use ADSL 2+ broadband you will need an ADSL 2+ compatible modem or router. You can bring your own from a previous provider, or Aussie Broadband can supply a range of pre-configured and tested ADSL 2+ routers and ADSL 2+ wireless routers so you can use devices such as laptops anywhere around the house.

The routers supplied by Aussie Broadband come with a full advanced replacement Warranty. If any problems arise, we will send you a new router: there is no delay while waiting for your faulty one to be repaired. Aussie Broadband provides this Warranty and you won’t need to deal with the modem manufacturer.

Line Filter

A line filter is required on all phone devices, such as answering machines, faxes, phones and other items. Line filters keep your broadband service and your phone line separate. If you have a ‘back to base’ alarm system, you will need a central splitter professionally installed. We recommend that your alarm company does this.

Aussie Broadband provides a free line filter with every ADSL router purchased through us. Even if you already have a line filter, it is worth checking that it is ADSL2+ compatible, as not all line filters are built to the same standard.
