Home Phone More Information

Do I need to be an Aussie Broadband Internet customer?

Yes. To access our Home Phone service you must have an Aussie Broadband Internet Service. Examples include ADSL, ADSL2+, Fixed Wireless or Satellite.

How long does it take to switch my Home Phone to Aussie Broadband?

Typically, we can transfer your existing Home Phone within 5–10 business days. Connection of new lines can take longer.

What is the call quality like?

Aussie Broadband’s Phone Line product is a premium phone service product. You should notice absolutely no difference in the quality of your phone calls.

How reliable is Aussie Broadband’s Home Phone service?

Our phone service uses the same network used by most other Australians. You can expect the same reliability and integrity as the phone services you have used in the past. Plus, you get access to super fast Broadband at great rates when you bundle.

Can I select just local calls and line rental?

No. You must be a full service Home Phone customer including local, national, fixed to mobile and International. If you choose to pre-select another provider you will automatically lose the discount and extra data features under your Broadband plan bundle.

What if I no longer wish to have a phone service with Aussie Broadband?

If you decide that you no longer wish to use our Home Phone service, you should contact your new chosen provider, who will arrange to transfer your phone line. We are happy to remain as your Internet Service Provider, however, you will lose the benefits of bundling your Broadband and Phone Line, including the monthly fee discount and extra included data.

Does Aussie Broadband offer Priority Assistance?

Priority Assistance is a service for residential customers who have (or have an individual at their residence who has) a diagnosed life threatening medical condition. The objective is to provide this group of customers with the highest service level practicably available at the time.

Unfortunately, at this time, Aussie Broadband cannot offer Priority Assistance. Aussie Broadband therefore recommends that customers in need of Priority Assistance take this into consideration before proceeding with an application.

Do you offer disability equipment, such as TTY phones or discounts?

We are able to bill for basic rental of disability equipment, including TTY phones. If you rent this equipment from your current provider we can take this equipment over and continue to bill you, but please note that we do not currently participate in any subsidy programs under the Disability Equipment Program and therefore are unable to offer a discount at this time. We recommend that customers with specific disability needs (including TTY equipment) consider these facts before applying for a phone bundle.
