Aussie Broadband customers raise $50,000 for charity (a small inspiration in times of COVID)
Aussie Broadband customers have raised a staggering $50,000 through the Telco Together Foundation’s Small Change Big Change program.
Customers who participate simply add a $1 donation on their bill every month to help those in need.
Aussie Broadband joined the program in July last year, and offers it as a simple opt-in choice for new customers.
100% of donations go towards building resilient young Australians through the work of small, innovative charities ReachOut, Red Dust and the Beacon Foundation. They support Australians in the areas of Indigenous communities, mental health, youth unemployment and disadvantage.
Managing Director Phillip Britt said the amount raised in just under 10 months showed the incredible generosity of the Australian people even during times of crisis.
“Despite bushfires, drought, floods and COVID, our customers have still managed to make a significant difference,” Phil said.
“One of our closely-held company values is being good to people. We believe giving back to the community is important, and joining this program was a no-brainer for us.”
Telco Together CEO Warren Sainsbury said it’s great to see that even during these difficult times, people are still helping those who are doing it tough.
“We cannot thank Aussie Broadband customers enough for their generosity,” he said. “Their donation has gone towards supporting education and mental health programs for young people, which has never been more important than during this growing health crisis.”
Aussie Broadband said it plans to offer the Small Change Big Change program to existing customers at a later date.
