What’s it all about?

Who needs Edward Cullen when you could have the mysterious and dreamy Matthew Clairmont (Matthew Goode)? Based on the All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkness, A Discovery of Witches follows the relationship between historian Diana Bishop (Teresa Palmer), and geneticist Matthew, after Diana discovers a bewitched manuscript and is forced back into a world of dark magic to protect its secrets. With a richly detailed mythos, this is a binge-worthy foray into the mysteries of the occult.

NBA Playoffs

NBA Playoffs

Things are heatin’ up on the court at the NBA playoffs this month!

What’s it all about

After a shortened 72-game schedule the NBA Playoffs will commence with the play-in tournament starting May 18. Newly introduced, the 7-8 seeds in each conference will be determined by a two round playoff between the teams ranked 7-10. The race for supremacy, and these play-in spots, is starting to heat up. It has been an injury-riddled season, with COVID-related postponements and minimal crowd attendance for most games.

Can the defending champions, the Los Angeles Lakers overcome their injury issues and lower-than-expected seed and return to the Finals? They’ll have to get past the Utah Jazz, Phoenix Suns and city rivals Los Angeles Clippers in the West, who have been consistent on offense and defence all season. In the East, the re-tooled Philadelphia 76ers, featuring Australia’s Ben Simmons, are duelling it out with the star-studded Brooklyn Nets, who added former MVP James Harden in a blockbuster midseason trade, for home court advantage throughout their run to the Finals.

Watch the play-in tournament from May 18 on ESPN.
