How to Schedule Wi-Fi Pause on Your Google Nest

If you have a Google Nest System, you can pause and un-pause Wi-Fi. This means you can schedule a ‘pausing’ time for each device in your household, so you can control the Wi-Fi, like parental controls.

To do this, download the Google Nest App:

1. Open the app via your device.
2. Tap Wi-Fi.
3. Under “Family Wi-Fi,” tap your group name to pause or un-pause your device group. You might need to swipe left to find more groups.

If you’d like to pause a specific device:

1. Open the app via your device.
2. Tap Wi-Fi.
3. Next to the device you want to pause, tap ‘Pause’. To resume, tap Un-Pause.
Note: If a device is set as a priority device, you’ll need to end the priority setting before you pause the device. To pause a priority device, tap End now and then Pause.

To create a scheduled pause (e.g.: you want a certain device to be paused at 10pm each night):

1. Open the app via your device.
2. Tap Wi-Fi, Family Wi-Fi, Add and Schedule.
3. Give your schedule a name.
4. Select a group, then tap “Next”.
5. Select a start time and an end time, and which days you would like the pause to occur.
6. Tap done.
