Aussie Broadband releases inaugural Sustainability Report

Aussie Broadband Limited (ASX: ABB) has released its inaugural Sustainability Report for the year ended 30 June 2025 (FY25), which highlights how ESG has been embedded into the Company’s day-to-day operations.

FY25 ESG highlights:

  • Invested over $1 million in communities through initiatives such as Helping Communities Connect

  • Achieved a 10.55% reduction in scope 2 electricity (kWh) consumption

  • Raised more than $149,000 through Small Change Big Change customer donations

  • Supported 16,000 families through the School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI)

  • Reduced the gender pay gap to 6.7% (March 2025) from 11.5% (March 2024)

  • Diverted 54.8 tonnes of e-waste from landfill

  • Achieved 8.4/10 customer satisfaction — as measured by Voice of Customer surveys

A culture of giving back

Aussie Broadband’s growth over the past 20 years has been underpinned by being good to the people, communities and environment that have shaped it into one of Australia’s largest telecommunications companies. Giving back to its communities is built into Aussie Broadband’s DNA and reinforced through its values.

Aussie Broadband established an ESG framework based on the outcome of the materiality assessment undertaken in FY24, and has been tracking positive progress against key initiatives under each of the pillars. as outlined below.

The Resilient Operations and Supply Chains pillar (Environment) has delivered a number of outcomes in FY25, including diverting 54.8 tonnes of e-waste from landfill, and achieving a 10.55% reduction in Scope 2 electricity consumption (kWh) through improved operational performance and our commitment to 100% renewable energy.

The Empowered People and Communities pillar (Social) has also seen numerous commitments delivered, such as introducing Domestic and Family Violence awareness training for all staff and achieving an employee engagement score of 8.1/10. Externally, we supported our customers to raise almost $150,000 for the Small Change Big Change program. Under the Pledge 1% program, in FY25 Aussie Broadband supported over 1,151 community partners in total, and our staff contributed 1,874 hours of volunteer time.

Under the Secure and Transparent Systems pillar (Governance), Aussie Broadband’s ESG framework and governance structure are well placed to address future climate related mandatory compliance and also monitor material risks and opportunities. This Sustainability Report is a key step towards educating and engaging our stakeholders through transparent disclosure.
