Is there any additional charge to upgrade to the new nbn® high-speed tiers?

No - users on the 100/20, 250/25, or 1000/50 plan with an eligible connection type, were automatically upgraded to a 500/50, 750/50, or 1000/100 plan at no additional cost.

Do I need to upgrade my router?

To see the full benefit of the increased speeds, you may need to update your home network. If you've got an older router, it's Wi-Fi capabilities may be lower than the new plans, meaning you'll never get the boosted speeds. We recommend a router that has Wi-Fi 7 to get the most out of a multi-gig plan. If you've got a larger house, we also recommend looking into utilising mesh technology. If you're ordering a new multi-gig plan, part of the upgrade process will include updating the NBN connection box. Don't worry, we'll help you with that.
