Aussie Broadband mobile customers can now access International Mobile Roaming (IMR) as part of their mobile service under new updates being rolled out to the MyAussie and Carbon portals.

International mobile roaming is now available for Aussie Broadband mobile customers. It is available as an option within MyAussie for users, although international roaming must also be enabled within the device’s settings.

When enabled, users will be able to access 5GB data and unlimited calls and texts for $5/day when travelling in International Zone 1 countries without having to go through the hassle of switching or acquiring a new SIM card or provider.

For users travelling in Zone 2 and Zone 3 countries, roaming prices will be charged at pay-as-you-go (PAYG) rates so customers have the flexibility to access data, texts and calls as needed without a fixed daily charge. A full list of which destinations are designated Zone 1, Zone 2 and Zone 3 can be found via the International Roaming landing page.

If customers are travelling between international zones within a single day, they will be notified via SMS and/or email about the pricing for the zone they are currently in. All $5/day packs will be active for 24 hours from the first use, and customers will be alerted when they reach 50%, 80% and 100% of their daily data allowance. Users travelling through Zone 2 and Zone 3 countries on the PAYG plan will receive regular notifications of their roaming charges.

Users can choose to opt out of international mobile roaming at any time either directly through the app or by contacting Aussie Broadband’s customer service via phone, email, or Live Chat. Users will also not be charged if they do not use their phone while overseas, if international roaming is disabled on their device, or if their device is on Airplane/Flight Mode.

Business, enterprise and wholesale customers who access Aussie Broadband mobile services through the Carbon portal will be able to enable IMR later this June. Business users will get access to the same $5/day packs and terms; as for residential customers, IMR will need to be enabled within Carbon or MyAussie, and on a device level to function.

For more information or for any assistance in enabling IMR on Aussie Broadband mobile services, customers can call Aussie on +61 300 880 905 or via the Live Chat on the Aussie Broadband website during regular operating hours.
