Novating your Aussie Broadband services

Last Updated: Friday 31 July 2026

A novation transfers ownership and responsibility of an Aussie Broadband service from one legal entity to another.

When is a Transfer of Ownership or Novation required?

You’ll need to complete a Transfer of Ownership or Novation if:

  • You’re transferring existing business services to a different legal entity.
    * For example, if you close one business and start another, even if it operates from the same premises.

  • You’re selling your business and need to transfer the Aussie Broadband services to the new owner.

  • You’re purchasing or taking over a business that already has Aussie Broadband services.

  • You want to move a service from a residential account to a business account.

Please note: all new legal owners are subject to a credit check.

Select your account type below for the appropriate transfer process, if you are unsure, please reach out to the Business Support team by calling 1300 480 905.

Important information

  • Service transfers are usually completed between 8.30am and 5pm AEST.

  • We’ll do our best to accommodate requests for transfers outside these hours.

  • A brief service interruption may occur during the transfer process. We'll discuss this with you beforehand and confirm any expected impact.
